Hello from Camp Timberlane! It was a great first Cruiser Day and an amazing way to end the first week of camp. Every Tuesday our camp celebrates Cruiser Day: a holiday where each village gets to go on different adventures. This week, the juniors went on van, the intermediates stayed in camp, and the seniors went on bus. Every village had an amazing time exploring the beauty of Wisconsin.
The juniors separated into vans by cabin and took off on their own adventures. One cabin went to Iron Mountain Mines for a mining tour/experience while another went to see lumberjack training! Some of the cabins even met up halfway through the day at Little Girls Point to swim and have a grilled lunch by Lake Superior. The juniors had tons of fun today and returned to camp with full smiles.
The intermediates stayed in camp today, but don’t let their lack of leaving fool you. They had one of the most fun days yet! The kids attended activities as a cabin group: they waterskied, played basketball, climbed, swam, and paddleboarded. For lunch, the cabins brought takeout into camp. Some ate local Chinese food, some ate pizza and others had culvers. After more activities and a BBQ dinner, the intermediates went into a World Cup soccer match for their evening program.
The seniors left camp as a group today, turning a school bus into a camp bus! They started by going to Hawks Nest to tube down the Wisconsin River. They chilled, listened to music, and soaked in the sun! After this, they went to a park for some lunch before playing laser tag! The day ended with some pizza and ice cream, an unbeatable combination!
It was an amazing day in and out of camp. Now, the boys are fast asleep and recharging for tomorrow’s adventures. We can’t wait for the fun we have in store, until then…
Benches Up,
