July 28th: Cruiser Day

Hello from sunny Camp Timberlane! It was a hot and adventurous day up here in the northwoods. Today was our second cruiser day of the second session. This week, the juniors went on bus, the intermediates went on van, and the seniors stayed in camp. Each village had unique experiences, and it was fun for all in and out of camp!

After the whole camp had a bagel breakfast, the juniors took off on a bus at 10:00 AM. The junior village director, Henry Anderson, planned an incredible day. They started by heading to Eagle River to play laser tag and mini golf. It was an exciting start to the day, but the energy didn’t dwindle; the juniors then went to a baseball field to have a grilled lunch and play a huge game of wiffle ball. After this, the boys headed to The Waters to enjoy the indoor water park. They finished the day with some Domino’s and ice cream at night from Briqs.
The intermediates started heading out in their vans around 8:00 AM. Only three cabins left this early, and that was because they decided to go to Madeline Island. Madeline Island is a beautiful nature preserve in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It’s a great spot for cliff jumping and helped provide the cabins with an epic experience. Other cabins left a little later, around 10:00, to go to Saxon Harbor, the iron mines, swimming, and more! The cabins made sure to get their Culvers fixings and had plenty of ice cream. It was an awesome time for each cabin!
After sleeping in until 9:30, the seniors woke up and headed to Pickles’s house for an extra lazy breakfast. Pickles, Jackson, Elliot, and Ryan all helped cook the seniors’ pancakes, sausages, and eggs. After stuffing their faces, the seniors got the ultimate free period: 2 hours of trampball and athletic games. These activities lasted until lunch, which was take-out orders from Culvers and McDonald’s. Lunch carried into a rest period, then at 3:00 PM, the seniors had a water-based free period. The boys oscillated between a free swim, skiing, and water games on the athletic field. After a BBQ dinner, the seniors played a Trampball World Cup Tournament. After a fierce battle, Gabe Miles defeated Liam Hitchens in the final game. It was an awesome day for the seniors!
After lots of laughs and adventures, the boys settled back into bed to prepare for tomorrow. There are tons of surprises in store for tomorrow, but until then…
