Hello from the Northwoods! What a day we have had here at camp. It all started with a wonderful lazy breakfast which means the admin team was in the kitchen making omelettes and bullseyes! Campers and staff can come into the lodge as they please from 8:30-9:30 and order whatever style omelette, eggs, or bullseye (egg in toast) they want. It was a nice chill way to start the day.
After lazy breakfast we did a routine cabin cleanup and then headed right into the morning activities. The energy was high after a relaxed start of the day. The sun came out after a few early morning showers and dried everything out in plenty of time! The campers were able to enjoy their morning activities with lots of laughter and sunshine.
For lunch we had a fantastic tostados meal. A great refuel from the morning’s activities. During rest period the campers all signed up for the 5th series of activities. We are really in the full swing of things for second session! After rest period we moved into some open clinics for the afternoon. Campers could choose which ones they wanted to attend and stay for as long as they wanted. There were so many different things to choose from, from fishing around the lake, climbing up the wall, or cooking over an open campfire!
The day was far from over after our afternoon clinics. We announced that tonight’s EP was Casino Night and the place went wild! Everyone was so excited to gamble their Timberbucks and try to earn their cabins the best prizes. We got ready for casino night by having a yummy hot dog cookout! It was really shaping up to be a great day all around!
Casino night was a hit as always! Timberbucks were flying out of the casino as the campers kept winning hands and cashing in on their bets. The night ended with an intense tug of war between the CIT’s, the JC’s and the SC’s. Campers were going wild cheering for the teams they bet on. After all the gambling concluded, the campers counted their winnings and carefully chose their cabin prizes! Stay tuned tomorrow to hear about another amazing day at camp!
