Happy second day of activities! It was a beautiful day in the Northwoods: it was filled with sunshine and cooler temperatures. We started the day off at 8:30 with an egg McMuffin Sandwich breakfast. After getting our grub on, we headed out to the athletic field for some camp photos. We took this session’s all-camp photo, an extreme tripper photo, and a legacy legends photo. Once this was taken care of, the boys headed back to their cabins to grab their gear for the first and second periods of activities.
Our activities have gone into full swing now: skiers are progressing, canoers are gliding across the lake, and the climbing tower is being scaled! The kids have been loving their first series, and it shows in the conversations we have over meals and during free time. Speaking of free time, after second period ended at noon, we launched into our morning free period which was filled with trampball and much more.
This ran up until our 1:00 corndog and french fry lunch. The boys practically inhaled the food and were given some sweet chocolate pudding for dessert. After lunch, they were dismissed back to the cabins for a rest period. Some of the kids have been using this time to go fishing with makeshift fishing poles, and a couple of campers caught some good-sized fish today!
By 3:00, we were ready to start our third and fourth periods of activities. This ran up until our afternoon free period, which began at 5:00. There were a few different activities open during the afternoon free: pickleball, board games, and even archery. The free period ended before our 6:15 flagpole ceremony and dinner, which was beans and burgers!
We opened up canteen after dinner and headed into our evening program: blue and white games! The boys were divided up to play a variety of different sports: basketball, baseball tennis, pickleball, soccer, and much more! It was so fun seeing the healthy competition and smiles on the boys’ faces. Tomorrow’s shaping up to be another fun-filled day with some surprises. Until then…
