Greetings from camp! My name is Ryan and I am the Associate Director here at camp. I work with Sam year round, preparing and organizing during the off season to provide the best summer experience for our campers. I take care of staff hiring, logistics, and operations for camp while I am living in Cincinnati, Ohio. During the summer, I oversee Facilities and Maintenance along with any camp operations.
I started working at camp in 2015, as a wilderness trip leader. I instantly fell in love with the trips program and the camp community. I have been coming back every summer ever since and have actually completed every trip camp has to offer! I hung up my trip leader boots in 2022 and transitioned into the administrative role I hold today. I am privileged to have the chance to work alongside this community for over a decade now and I can’t wait for the years to come!
As for today, it was a warm one! We had a lot of campers in the lake during activities and free periods trying to beat the summer heat. We didn’t let it slow us down one bit though. Fueled by drinking LOTS of water, the campers had an amazing day. We started off the morning with some french toast and got right into the day’s activities after a classic cabin cleanup. Lunch came quickly due to all the fun we were having! We had an American classic, hotdogs and french fries! That puts everyone in the perfect mood for a rest period.
The afternoon was full of energy as campers engaged in their activities. Free swim was a popular place before dinner, trying to cool down a bit before chicken wing night! This is one of the most popular dinners so the energy in the lodge was high! We ended the day with an amazing evening program, The Quest. Everyone had a great time and it was the perfect way to end our warm, wonderful day. Until next time!
