August 2, 2025: Titan’s Day!!

What a day in the Northwoods! Today was the big day, Titan’s Day! All of Camp was split into 4 teams, each representing a different mythological figure. This summer we had Ares, Hermes, Hercules, and Zeus, all competing for the victory. We fueled up for the morning with scrambled eggs, toast and hash browns which was a hearty breakfast for a day full of energy.

The first event of the day was Gladiator Leg Wrestling. Everyone was cheering on their teammates and the energy level was off to a great start. The first series of events included camp classics like trampball, bombardment, shuffleboard, and the waterfront triathlon! Points were really starting to add up by the time we took a break for lunch.

Lunch today has a special tradition. The whole lodge is silent during this meal, no talking, no singing, no chanting. Just some good ole fashion hotdogs and curly fries. Not talking was easy today because the food was so good! It was a great way to take a pause from all the competition. After lunch everyone headed back to the cabins for a much needed rest period. We all needed to get rested up for the afternoon series of events!

Immediately following the rest period everyone headed out to the soccer field for the staff and camper relay races. Both races were absolute nail biters and came down to the final steps! The afternoon energy easily matched the mornings and everyone was putting in maximum effort to earn their teams as many points as possible. The final series of events was the best one yet because the campers knew it was coming down to the end…

Like always, this day ends with a huge TUG OF WAR! Some would say that the tug is all that matters. First, the staff of each team competes in the tug, and then it’s the campers turn. This is by far the loudest part of the day. Everyone was screaming in favor of their team. Winners yelling victory chants and losers going over what went wrong. It really is the best way to end the competition for the day.

Post competition everyone was hungry for dinner. We had matzo ball soup with potato pancakes and cheesy broccoli. A meal we have every Titan’s Day! And what better way to cap off dinner than with come canteen and trampball. Tonight’s EP was a chill organized free period. It was a relaxing evening after the big day of competition. The finishing touch on the day was a yummy watermelon party. Everyone came into the lodge and grabbed a juicy piece of watermelon as a final treat of the day! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventures!
