Greetings from Camp Timberlane! The sun shone bright over the Northwoods today as we enjoyed a perfect blend of classic camp activities and special traditions. It was a day that reminded us all why we love this place so much!
The morning began with the sweet smell of French toast and bacon wafting through camp at 8:00 AM. After eating a delicious breakfast, we headed back to our cabins for a quick clean-up before first period. During activities, the archery range was busy with campers perfecting their aim, while down at the waterfront, canoers and skiers alike glided across Towanda.
When free period arrived, the trampolines immediately filled with bouncing campers while others enjoyed board games in the reprieve of the shade. When the lunch bell rang, we gathered in the lodge for grilled cheese and tomato soup, with the gluten-free version receiving raving reviews from all who tried it.
The afternoon was packed with more activities and another free period where campers could choose between swimming, trampball, or just relaxing with friends. As dinner time approached, the dining hall filled with the comforting aroma of meatloaf, a camp favorite that never disappoints.
After dinner, we gathered around the campfire for our special Legacy Night ceremony. We honored the staff members celebrating their 10th summer at Timberlane, listening to their friends and family share stories and laughing late into the evening. The light from the campfire showed smiling faces as we celebrated the people who make this place so special.
Now, as the campers are settling in for the night, we look forward to tomorrow’s surprises with excitement. Tonight, we go to bed with full hearts and happy memories of another amazing day at camp.
Benches Up,
Joey Flom
