Who’s Who at Camp – April 2023

Hi Folks,

We are very excited to tell you about some awesome people who will be with us at camp this summer.  We have staff, both returning and new! We also have an exciting list of campers who are joining us this summer!! Check it out!

WELCOME BACK TO THE FOLLOWING CAMPERS JOINING US THIS SUMMER! 

Our invitations to last summer’s staff to return in 2023 have just recently gone out, and we already have some great folks who will be back again. We have a great group of returning staff to tell you about. Welcome back to:   David Berk David is returning to camp as a Junior Counselor this summer. This will be David’s 9th summer at camp! He is currently a Senior at Catalina Foothills High School in Tucson, Arizona. He just went to state for a robotics competition and is currently a member of a 4h club! David is very excited for another great summer and can’t wait to meet all his campers! Aidan Mease Aidan is returning this summer as a Junior Counselor and this will be his 10th summer at camp! He is currently a Senior at The Academy of Tucson in Tucson, Arizona. Aidan is proud to say that he has chosen to go to the University of Arizona starting this coming fall! He is very excited for another summer at camp! SAY HELLO TO THESE AWESOME FIRST-YEAR STAFF MEMBERS: Daniel Gyorke  Daniel is joining camp this summer for the first time. He will be a senior counselor as well as the Director of Sailing! He is from Budapest Hungary where he is a junior in University. Daniel is very interested in American culture and is very excited to be a part of camp this summer. He can’t wait to make new friends and meet his campers! Carlos Gonzalez Carlos will be joining Timberlane for his first summer. He will be a part of our awesome maintenance team. Currently, Carlos is studying automation and autotronics engineering at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla. He really enjoys exercise and playing different sports. Carlos is always up for new challenges and he is very excited to be at Camp this summer! Eve Peckett Eve will be joining Camp as an Activity Specialist for her very first summer! She is from Leeds, England but is currently studying Law at the University of Brighton in East Sussex, England. Eve loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures. She is currently learning to roller skate because it is very popular at her University! Eve is very excited to be at Camp this summer and to new friends and memories. Mafer Vera Mafer will be joining Camp for her very first summer! She will be an Activity Specialist as well as the Director of Guitar. She is from Cancun Mexico where she is a musician  playing many instruments such as the drums, guitar, piano, and ukulele! Mafer really enjoys traveling and learning from different cultures, especially their music and art. She is very excited to learn the culture of Timberlane and to make new friends along the way! Brooke Merrick Brooke is coming to Camp for her first summer! She will be an Activity Specialist as well as taking out a few wilderness trips. She is from Auckland New Zealand where she went to school for international business and economics. Brooke is currently thru-hiking the Te Araroa Trail, a long trail that traverses the entire NZ country. Once it is all said and done, she will have walked over 1,900 miles! Alejandro Garcia Alejandro is joining Camp for his very first summer. He will be a part of our wonderful kitchen staff. He is from Puebla Mexico and is currently studying public accounting. Alejandro loves to dance and meet new people. He enjoys traveling and is very excited to be at camp this summer. He can’t wait to meet new friends and make everlasting memories. Gabriela Garcia Gabriela is joining Camp for her very first summer! She will be a part of our amazing kitchen staff. She is from Puebla, Mexico and is studying at The Universidad del Valle de México (UMV). Gabriela loves spending time with animals, drawing, and helping others. She especially enjoys teaching art to children! Adriana Corona Adriana will be coming to camp for her first summer. She is going to be a part of our amazing kitchen staff. She is currently studying Business Management at the Institution of Technology in Puebla, Mexico. Adriana really enjoys taking photographs of new places she goes, especially coffee shops. She has a bit of a sweet tooth and also is a twin! She can’t wait to be at camp this summer! Jose Gomez Jose is joining camp for his very first summer and will be a Senior Counselor. He is from Puebla, Mexico and is currently a Senior studying History at Colegio Castlefield Primaria. Jose spends a lot of his free time doing what he loves, which is working out. He is very excited about his first summer at camp and can’t wait to make new friends and memories!
