First trips are out the door!
This morning our first set of wilderness trips departed camp after an amazing coffee cake breakfast. They received a proper send off with everyone cheering in the lodge and there was nothing but smiles as the vans pulled down camp road for their adventures. We are always so happy and excited to see our campers utilizing this awesome opportunity to experience the great outdoors.
Today was also another fantastic day of activities. The campers are in full swing with learning new skills and practicing the ones they already have. The cloudy weather stopped absolutely NO ONE from having a great time because here at camp we have the most fun rain or shine! The morning activities were followed by an amazing gyro lunch to get refueled for the afternoon.
We spent rest period writing letters home and getting ready for the afternoon activities. Similar to this morning the campers were full of excitement and the activities were buzzing with laughter.
Dinner tonight was a classic stir-fry with rice and, you guessed it, canteen for dessert! After some trampball and free period games, the campers all gathered in the rec hall to start tonight’s evening program, The Quest. This evening program requires campers to collect an assortment of items from around camp using clues and riddles. Once items are collected, the campers come back to the rec hall for the “Game Show” where they use said items to win points for their team!
We truly can’t ask for a better start to the summer and we are beyond excited for what is still to come. The past few weeks have been hard work preparing for these moments, and we are so proud of what this community has become in only a few days. Stay tuned tomorrow for another action-packed day!
