It was another amazing day at Camp Timberlane! We started the day slow with a lazy breakfast. We had a soft wake up at 8:30 and let the boys stroll into the lodge for eggs their way. By 9:20, we had a last call and everyone in camp was awake and ready to seize the day. We had a quick cabin clean up and around 10:45 we headed into first and second period.
The activities are going well. Even though we’re nearing the end of our first session, the activity directors are still making sure to push the campers and are planning very fun lessons. There was no free period this morning since we slept in, so we did activities right until the waiters bell and lunch. For lunch today, we had a delicious helping of sloppy joes. Afterwards, we headed back to the cabins for a much needed rest period. Since we played so hard during yesterday’s games, rest period today was filled with a lot more naps than usual.
After getting revitalized, we sent the boys off to third and fourth period. These periods were followed by a welcomed free period. it was filled with trampball, tushball, disc golf and more. The kids love having the freedom to choose what to do during this time, and it’s always fun to see what they get up to.
The free period ran right up into our early dinner: it was early because we had another social tonight! After a BBQ dinner, we loaded up the buses and headed over to meet the lovely ladies at Camp Marimeta. After a scenic drive, we arrived at their beautiful camp and began the festivities. There was music, popsicles, dancing, popcorn, and lots of laughs. It was really fun to see the boys jump out of their shells and interact with the girls: they had tons of fun. After a couple hours of mingling, we loaded the buses back up and headed to camp. Since the social went a little late, the boys went straight to the cabins after we returned.
This late arrival back also means we’ll be sleeping in a half hour later tomorrow so that the boys can have the proper energy for tomorrow’s fun events. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Until then…
