Happy Monday from Camp Timberlane! We had a fantastic morning that started off with some pancakes and sausage patties, a classic camp breakfast. We had a few trips depart this morning as well, the Flambeau River and Devil’s Lake rock climbing! After we ate and sent the trips on their way everyone headed back to their cabins for some good ole cabin clean up.
Today was the last day of 5th series activities. Campers were putting all the skills they have learned over the last week to good use! The morning’s activities were full of energy and excitement from both the campers and the staff. The activities took us up to lunch time where everyone chowed down on some beanie weenies and flaky buttery biscuits. After lunch we had team meetings for Titan’s Day as well and we also wrote some letters home.
The last day of each activity series is always a highlight, filled with special games and challenges that let campers showcase the skills they’ve honed throughout the week. For example, Disc Golf went to the waterfront, where they enjoyed a fun-filled session of Frisbee games. Golf hosted the Timber Opens, and Rock Climbing finished their week with a thrilling challenge on the advanced wall.
Dinner tonight was a delicious Italian beef feast that left everyone satisfied and ready for the Evening Program. We brought back the fan-favorite Camper Hunt, and it was a huge hit!
Here’s how it worked: Campers teamed up and hid in designated areas while the counselors waited in the Rec Hall. When the bell rang, it was game on! Counselors scoured the grounds to find the hidden campers. Once a camper and their buddy were spotted, they had to make their way back to us. Each village had different point values assigned, contributing to our ongoing Blue and White Games competition. The excitement was real, with four mystery campers earning the highest point totals. The buzz didn’t stop there—once everyone regrouped at the Lodge, the campers couldn’t wait to share their best hiding spots with their cabin mates. It was a night filled with laughter, strategy, and camaraderie that will surely be remembered fondly by all.
Tomorrow is cruiser day, so all the campers are in for an adventurous day away from camp. Stay tuned for the next daily update!
