Games, Socials, and More!
It was a spectacular and jam packed day here at Camp Timberlane. We started off the day as usual with an 8:30 breakfast. Today, we had scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and toast. After getting all fueled up, we sent the boys back to their cabins to do a quick clean up before launching into our special morning program: Kawaga Games!
Every summer we play different camps in intercamp games. Today, we played the boys from Camp Kawaga in a variety of sports. Some of the boys went to kawaga while others stayed at camp and played here. The boys played hard and had a blast while also showing what it means to have good sportsmanship.
While this was happening, the boys that elected not to play had clinics. A variety of activities were open. Some kids went for a ski run, some played trampball, some did woodworking, and others did archery. It was a fun filled morning with lots of options for everyone to enjoy. After the clinics ended and the boys returned from Kawaga, we headed into lunch. Today we indulged in some chicken caesar salad. After clearing our plates, we sent the boys back to the cabins for a rest period.
Once the clock struck 3:00, we headed into first and second periods of activities. During skiing today, we had the option for some to double ski. The kids seized the opportunity, grabbing their friends and having an incredible time on their runs.
The activities ran up until 5:00, when we sent the boys back to their cabins to freshen up for tonight’s evening program… The Agawak Social!! We invited the lovely ladies of Camp Agawak over for a luau social! We dressed up in Hawaiian outfits, passed out leis, played tropical music and had themed stations for the girls and boys to visit. The boys were so gentlemanly and had a great time socializing.
After lots of fun and sugar, we sent the girls home and the boys back to their cabins to unwind. We brushed our teeth, showered, hopped into our PJs, and called it a day. It was such a fun day, one filled with many surprises. We can only wonder what tomorrow will bring. Until then…
