Hello from Camp Timberlane! It was an amazing cruiser day, one filled with fun and excitement. This was our last cruiser day, and this week, the juniors stayed in camp, the intermediates hopped on a bus, and the seniors went in vans to see the beauty of Minoqua. The day started with a bagel breakfast in the cabins. The boys brought bagels, fruit, and juices back to their cabins for a chill morning.
At 10:00, the bell rang and the juniors headed to their cabin activities. The boys did a bunch of activities that they decided on as a cabin: some did free swim, others fished, and everyone played trampball. It was a great morning that finished with take-out food being brought into camp by the counselors for lunch. Culvers, Chinese food, and Domino’s covered the tables as the juniors picnicked in the central area. After lunch and the remaining activity periods, the boys had a BBQ dinner and finished the day with a huge game of slip and slide kickball. It was an awesome day filled with tons of fun!
The intermediates left right after the 10:00 bell, and their first stop was the Pioneer Park Historical Complex, which is the largest logging museum in the country! The kids explored an old logging area, played in an awesome lumberjack park, and learned about the incredible history of the early 1900s and northwoods culture. While here, they had a Domino’s picnic for lunch. The boys continued their fun by going to The Waters for an epic swimming adventure! After splashing around, the boys headed to buy berries and snacks, get ice cream at What’s The Scoop, and then grilled out at a park for dinner. It was an awesome day filled with laughter and surprises!
The seniors split into their cabins and headed out into town after 10:00 this morning to take on a wide array of activities. Three of the cabins started the day by going to Saxon Harbor to enjoy Little Girls Point, an incredible park on Lake Superior that has mud dunes and pier jumping. Other cabins went mini golfing, bowling, and even cliff jumping on Madeline Island! The cabins also ate a lot of great food: from Hong Kong buffet to Moncale’s pizza, it was a spread of mouth-watering delicacies. It was a great time for the boys and such unique experiences for each cabin.
It was an incredible day here: one filled with excitement and adventure! We had so much fun and can’t wait to see what we have in store for tomorrow. Until then…
Benches Up,
Joey Flom
