July 17th 2026 – Bowling, Indoor Water Park, and the 1st Campfire

We knew yesterday that we wanted the boys to get a little more of a reprieve from the outdoors. With the air outside still not quite where we wanted it, we adjusted our plans and kept things inside for a bit longer. The junior and intermediate villages headed to the Waters, an indoor water park where the boys got to swim, hang out, and just enjoy some time in the pool. The senior village, meanwhile, had its turn at the bowling lanes. It was a nice change of pace, and the boys ran with it.

Lunch was corn dogs, and by the afternoon, the junior and intermediate village got their turn at the bowling lanes. Then the air cleared up nicely, and we were able to get outside and do some activities. Nothing too intense, just good clean camp fun with the boys happy to be back out in it.

Dinner was wings, and the boys were very happy. When we have wings, there are both spicy and barbecue options, and some plain, and the boys loved it.

We ended the night by the campfire, and it was the perfect way to end our first week of camp. The boys sang songs, laughed, and took a moment to reflect on what has already been a really special week. One by one, they stepped up to throw in their keylogs, sharing gratitude for the moments they’ve had and the friendships they’ve already built. It was a meaningful, warm end to a great week, and a reminder of just how much these boys have already grown into this place.

While we continue to monitor the situation, it was nice to have a quiet, normal night again. While we continue to monitor what’s going on, it was nice to have a quiet, normal night again.  Thank you for sending your boys. We will continue to have fun.
