Who’s Who at Camp – January, 2021

Hi Folks,

We hope everyone is enjoying the New Year and is getting ready and excited for the summer 2021. Don’t forget to check out our returning camper and staff section to see who is joining us for the summer of 2021!

Our invitations to last summer’s staff to return in 2021 have just recently gone out, and we already have some great folks who will be back again. Even though it’s only December, we have a great group of returning staff to tell you about. Welcome back to: DAVID HEIMAN This will be summer number 11 for David! He is 21 years old and is a Junior at Syracuse University where he is studying Sports Management. This summer David will be a Senior Counselor helping out all over camp! Something you may not know about David: “I am the President of my fraternity and have recently regained my love for trivial pursuit!”     ARI KADEN Summer number 8 coming up for Ari! He is 17 years old and a Senior at Highland Park High School. This summer Ari will be a Junior Counselor helping out in a variety of areas around camp like Cardio, Comedy Sportz, and Ropes Course. Something you may not know about Ari: “I have jumped off of the bridge from ‘Jaws’.” OWEN MONIESON This summer will be number 9 for Owen! He is a Senior at New Trier High School and will be 18 this summer. Owen will be a Junior Counselor this summer, you’ll see him all over camp, helping out with Yoga, Waterskiing, and Weight Training. Something you may not know about Owen: “Recently I have been contemplating life’s greatest mysteries, such as ‘What is speck?’, ‘What is the origin of a keylog?’, How does one impress girls at the Chippewa Social?’. These are the questions that keep me up at night.” WILL SEXTER This will be summer number 8 for Will! He is 17 years old and a Junior at Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School. Will is joining us at a Junior Counselor helping out at Sailing, Woodcrafts, and Mountain Biking. Something you may not know about Will: “I have driven across the country two times; once to Idaho over the summer, and once to Idaho for the winter. I have hit 60+ MPH on skis. I also enjoy tuning my own skis, as well as building computers.” DAVID WINE This is summer number 10 coming up for David!! He is 19 years old and a Sophomore at Colorado College. David will be a Senior Counselor. In addition to helping out at Tennis, Rock Climbing, and Ropes Course, David will also be working on our camp videos. Something you may not know about David: “My favorite fruit is pomegranate.” SAY HELLO TO THESE AWESOME FIRST-YEAR STAFF MEMBERS: RAQUEL HAGENBECK Raquel is from Puebla, Mexico where she is studying at Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla. She is 20 years old and will be a part of our awesome Kitchen Staff. Something you may not know about Raquel: “When I was little my dad taught me a piano song that I still haven’t forgotten.” LILIANA GONZALEZ LARA Liliana is 21 years old from Puebla, Mexico. She is currently in her 4th year at Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla studying Environmental Engineering. This summer Liliana will be joining our Kitchen Staff. Something you may not know about Liliana: “One of my hobbies is singing! I’ve been doing it ever since I was a little girl and one of the reasons why is my grandpa, he is a great singer.” MICHAEL STEEDLEY Micheal will be 24 years old this summer. He is from Powder Springs, Georgia and is attending Liberty University where he is studying Pre Law. While being a Senior Counselor, Micheal will also be helping out down at Swimming, with Lacrosse, as well as Cardio! Something you may not know about Michael: “10% of the world’s population is left handed and I am very happy to be a part of that group!”
