AND HERE WE GO.
Summer 2026 has officially begun. The staff was so excited after a phenomenal staff training, followed by an awesome Father and Son Weekend, to finally have the boys in camp. All the hard work paid off the minute that first bus drove in.
The Chicago bus rolled in under blue skies, and camp instantly came alive. There is nothing quite like that first arrival energy.
Then the Minneapolis bus came in, and so did some rain. No matter. We got everyone settled into their cabins, and from there the evening took on a life of its own. Campers sat down to our traditional first night spaghetti dinner, followed by homemade cookies fresh out of the oven. We then had our opening campfire in the Rec Hall, which ended up being a wonderful setting to bring everyone together and set the tone for the four weeks ahead. We gave a big shoutout to our first-year campers for having the guts to hop on a bus or plane today. That takes courage, and we see it.
To cap the night off, we got out on the trampball court under the lights. I cannot think of a better way to end the first day.
Thanks for sharing your campers with us.
Benches up,
Sam
