Today we got a bit of a reprieve from the hot weather with a cooler cloudy day. We also got to sleep a half hour later after a very fun and busy cruiser day yesterday. We had chocolate chip pancakes and sausage for breakfast before sending everyone back to their cabins for an extra long cabin clean up time since there wasn’t much time for cleaning yesterday.
At the bell, we went into our last 1st and 2nd periods of the season. Campers were finishing up projects in Arts and Crafts and Rocketry, trying to catch some fish, and playing sports out on the fields. Lunch today was mac and cheese with smokey links with delicious Luigis popsicles for dessert. This afternoon we had time to rest before moving into our last 3rd period of the session. Just as the period was ending, the rain that had been threatening us all day finally arrived.
But, as always we had a plan up our sleeve! Campers and counselors were sent back to their cabins to prepare for the long awaited karaoke night. After a camp favorite meal of wings and potatoes, we enjoyed watching our boys sing and dance on stage, it was certainly entertaining! Cabins Winnebago, Chippewa and Arapaho came out on top with Dakota earning an honorable mention. Tomorrow looks to be another hot sunny day and we have a huge surprise planned… stay tuned!
