August 6th 2024 – Last Cruiser Day

It was a great day for all at Camp Timberlane. Today was our last cruiser day, and it was filled with tons of fun and experiences. We woke up a little later and started the day with bagels in the cabins. After getting fueled up, we sent the boys off to experience the owners of Wisconsin.
This week, the Junior Village stayed in camp, the Intermediates took the bus, and the seniors took the van. Every village had unique experiences, and I got to enjoy the beauty and amazing food that our state has to offer.
In-camp for the Juniors was great: each cabin picked six unique activities to take on throughout the day. Most played trampball and skied, but other unique activities were picked too like woodworking and archery. During lunch, counselors brought local food in to dine on: pizza from Monical’s, Chinese food from Hunan, and more! The kids dined like locals and after lunch, they all enjoyed a rocket launch. The day ended with an amazing egg drop competition and a slip-and-slide kickball game. It was an epic day.
The intermediate village started the day at 10:00 when they hopped on a bus and headed into town. The village first went to play laser tag and Minigolf. After having lots of fun, they grilled at Riverview Park before heading to Highpines: it’s an artificial lake with inflatables and trampolines. This makeshift waterpark is tons of fun: there was lots of climbing, swimming, and horseplay. They finished the day with pizza and ice cream from Briqs.
The Senior cabins each took a van and ventured around Wisconsin. Some cabins woke up early to go cliff jumping at Madeline Island. Others went to Wausau for great food and awesome parks like Rib Moutain. All of the cabins dined on goof food though, some electing to get Bad Bones BBQ and others a classy McDonalds dinner. All in all, it was a very special day for each cabin.
It was a great day, one filled with tons of individualized memories. Each cabin and camper had unique experiences today and all put their heads on the pillow with accompanying smiles. Tomorrow is sadly our last day of activities, but we’re planning on finishing up with a bang. There’s plenty of camping left to be done, and until tomorrow comes…
