Today had a little bit of everything! We started off the morning with some fluffy pancakes and breakfast sausage links. Directly after the meal the campers all headed back to their cabins for some cabin cleanup. Our village directors love inspecting the cabins after cleanup because it is a great time to engage with every camper in the village!
After inspection we spent the morning doing 3rd and 4th period of activities. We switched up the morning because of something we have planned for the afternoon, keep reading to find out more! Activities went great and were full of energy and good vibes as usual. This series is almost over so campers are focusing on all the skills they have learned over the past week.
The morning activities were followed by a delicious lunch of mac ‘n cheese with smokey links. A perfect refuel for the afternoon clinics! But before those clinics started we had an all camp pickup, throwing trash away and putting lost and found items where they belong. This was followed by a relaxing rest period where the campers chilled out and wrote some letters home.
During the afternoon clinics, campers can pick and choose which activities they want to do for the period. Some campers choose to go to multiple and some choose to stick around one the whole time. It’s completely up to them! Some of the clinics that were offered today were fishing, rappelling, volleyball, paddleboarding, waterskiing, and much more!
Towards the end of the last clinic period some weather rolled in. We were interrupted by some thunder, which led to some rain showers. Everyone headed back to the cabins to dry off and get ready for dinner. Tonight for dinner we had a very yummy pasta bake with some garlic bread and zucchini. A hearty meal after an energy packed day!
We ended the day with an Organized Free evening program, rainy day style. The weather stuck with us through dinner and into the evening so we spent the time playing games in the lodge, rec hall and arena. It was a nice wind down to a very high energy day. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for tomorrow!
