July 1st 2024 – Sunny and 70

What a day! The weather up here has been a little inconsistent, with rainy and oddly cold days being waaayyyyyy more frequent that we would normally have. We are grateful to not be in the 90s/100s, but our low last night was closer to freezing than it was to 70 degrees, and for the night before July 1st… it’s weird.   But that being said, the temperature during the day today cracked 70 degrees AND the sun beamed down on camp, and all was well.

We got in a full day of activities, and Tuesday is our last day before we start our last series of activities for first session. Despite some cool and drizzly days, we got in all but one day of our activities so far this summer!  Our third series sign-ups are done, and it’s incredibly gratifying to see campers trying new activities for the last signup of first session.  Our advanced canoeing class was filled to capacity!
Tonight we had our second round of Blue and White games. Blue started the evening behind on the session scoreboard, but I think after tonight they may have pulled ahead into the lead. There are still plenty of Blue and White competitions ahead, and it’s great to see our campers invested in their new team-for-life’s success!
Tomorrow things cool off (again) and there’s rain in the forecast (again) but we’ll do our best to make the day magic for the campers (again).  Our CITs have a day off, and evening program will bring back a much-requested favorite Blue & White competition.
Thanks for reading today’s update.  Make sure to check the Campanion app for all the amazing photos our new camp photographer is getting of all the action around here! He’s a camp old-timer, and he has a great eye for capturing all the action around camp.
Benches up,
Jeff
