Happy first day of activities!
Today was a beautiful day for our first day of activities. After some sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches and fresh berries, the campers did some cabin cleanup, and then we were ready for a morning of activities. The campers approached the first day of activities with gusto, and it was so perfect to see our campers get into the lake, climb the wall, bike the trails, and do so much more.
Lunch was a classic: grilled cheese & tomato soup. Afterward, we had an all-camp photo before our first trips leave tomorrow, and then our first-year campers met up with their camp “big brothers” and played gaga in the arena. It was great seeing the first-year campers connect with these old-timers who they met virtually months ago!
The afternoon activities and free periods continued the tremendous energy of the morning. The sun came out, and by afternoon free period, the mild summer weather we enjoy every year was definitely with us.
Dinner was hot dogs and brats with scalloped potatoes. After dinner, we had a new evening program based around collecting pirate gold and cashing in to get points for each “pirate’s” blue/white team. It was a ton of fun; all the kids were moving constantly, and there was just enough goofiness to keep everyone laughing.
We’ve had a phenomenal first few days, and the vibe around camp is really feeling special. Friendships from past summers have clearly picked up right where they left off, and our new campers are embracing the camp family they met on Monday. It’s a special part of every summer, and we are so grateful your camper(s) are here to be the magic we have looked forward to since last August.
More great memories to come tomorrow! We hope you’ll have a great day also, wherever you are! And please, stay cool!
Benches up,
